To Valhalla - Fallen Viking Warrior Ring

This ring presents the face of a fallen warrior — a skull framed by a horned helmet and a braided beard, carved in sharp relief. The horned helm is not based on historical finds but on 19th‑century Romantic artwork, most famously popularised by Carl Emil Doepler, whose illustrations shaped the modern image of the Germanic warrior in opera and literature.

The motif reflects the ideal of the warrior’s passage to Valhalla, the hall of the slain. In Germanic belief, Valhalla stood within Asgard as the gathering place for those who met their end with courage. These chosen warriors were brought to Odin’s hall to feast, train, and prepare for the final battle at the world’s end.
