Drekieitr - Serpent Dragon Head Viking Arm Ring

Sale price$45.00

The Drekieitr bangle takes its name from Old Norse dreki eitr, meaning “dragon venom.” Its design is inspired by the carved dragon heads used on Viking longships, which were mounted on the prows of warships as a visual signal of hostile intent. These figureheads helped distinguish raiding vessels from trading ships and were a practical part of Viking signalling and identity.

The bangle also reflects the tradition of Norse arm rings, which were used both as personal adornment and as “oath rings.” These rings were worn by chieftains and warriors and could be used to seal agreements or mark loyalty. Drekieitr combines this historical function with a modern, durable construction suitable for everyday wear.

Made from 316L stainless steel, the bangle features a stylised dragon‑head motif at each end, echoing the longship prows that inspired it. It offers a straightforward interpretation of Viking‑Age symbolism connected with warfare, status, and oath‑keeping.
